CHC33021 | CERTIFICATE III IN INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT (AGEING & DISABILITY)

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in the community, home or residential care setting who work under supervision and delegation as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, following an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.

These individuals take responsibility for their own outputs within the scope of their job role and delegation. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

The skills in this qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of vocational placement as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Duration 30 weeks inclusive of vocational placement
Delivery and Assessment Mode Face to face in the classroom
Work placement: The Student must have completed at least 120 hours of work, which will be organised by the institute.
Entry
Requirements
Applicants will be assessed against the following criteria:
  • Applicant must be over the age of 18
  • Year 11 certificate or equivalent; OR
  • Holders of an AQF qualification level III and above; OR
  • Applicants with no formal qualification and have experience within the industry may also be considered.
English Proficiency:
  • Score of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent; OR
  • Copy of any international English test results (e.g. PTE of Score 47); OR
  • Completing the AUIPTLC English Placement Test to achieve an IELTS 6.0 or equivalent English proficiency; OR
  • Proof that the student has successfully completed an English Language course with an Australian educational institution exiting at an Advance level; OR
  • Any AQF qualification at the Certificate III level or above in any discipline area delivered and assessed in English; OR
  • Statement from an educational institution or similar evidence that confirms that English was the language of instruction if at least five years' studies completed in Australia, UK, USA,Canada, New Zealand, South Africa or Republic of Ireland.

Please note: All students must complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) during orientation. Students who do not complete an LLND during orientation will be required to complete one before the course commences to ensure the program's suitability and assist AUIPT in identifying any additional support needed during their study.
